The Giants and Padres both go 4 and 2 on the week and remain tied for first. This really is shaping more and more to be a two team race for the pennant as we move a quarter of the way through the season. Next week puts a toll on teams as they play 5 single game series. For some teams, like Boston, that means 3 trips across the country for a single game.

The first place Padres were paced by a hot Jake Peavy last week, but the question is will he be able to sustain such a pace since the catching corps have been taking a beating.
